We are often reminded that an encounter with Christ is life changing, you cannot have met Christ and remain the same or unchanged. Look at some of the famous people in the Bible, they met Christ and their lives changed, for the better. The Lord sends us out into his harvest as those who have encountered Him, those controlled by the peace of Christ and enriched by
the word of Christ. So, then our actions should reflect this. We do not always get it right, sometimes we fall short, but the Lord continues to ask us to get it right and blesses us with his peace.
What would our ministry look like when we accept the blessing? What would we do differently? As followers of Christ we are called to have peace and live peacefully. Living peacefully means we do away with anger, we worry less about things and circumstances outside of our control, we love more and do away with hatred and become more accepting of others as
co-labourers in the master’s harvest and it means we accept ourselves as we are, aware of our shortcomings continuing to ask the Lord to help us to be and do better. A person who is controlled by the peace of Christ is kind, humble, forgiving and patient.
The word of Christ strengthens us especially in moments in our lives when we are weak; the word of Christ offers us guidance when we are unsure of which path to follow; the word of Christ also encourages us to show up and do our best. The Lord invites us to spend time learning his word and let it dwell in us richly to be able to experience the many ways we will
be enriched by his word. We need to learn and know the word of Christ to make it a part of our lives.
Do you let the peace of Christ control your heart? How?
