After this glorious encounter with the risen Lord Jesus, these men don't hesitate to carry out his command to
"go and tell". They just can't help themselves. No fatigue, lack of sleep, interrupted meal or fear of the dark can delay them as they hurry back down the road to Jerusalem, where they find the disciples assembled together and confirm the Lord's resurrection! They share the Good News eagerly and excitedly.
After personal encounters with Jesus, we should always consider who he wants us to share these experiences with. This is Jesus, filling us with living water to overflowing so that we may help and encourage others on their faith journey. Many people consider their faith and spirituality a personal matter, but our walk
with Jesus and his special gifts of love and insight are surely things he wants us to share as a witness to his caring and presence.
Remember
times when others have shared their personal encounters with the Lord with you, perhaps strengthening and encouraging you to grow in your faith. Thank Jesus for them.
Have there been times when you have eagerly told of the
Lord’s presence and work in your own life? How has this encouraged a friend or group of companions? Ask Jesus to help you resolve to do this more often.
