Jesus teaches us a great lesson in this Gospel. Jesus wants us to be noticed, seen and praised by others. He wants us to be exalted. Our goodness is to be seen for the good of others, to make a difference for others.
Jesus is concerned about the way that this all happens. Jesus is interested in truth and humility, not false personas. Jesus calls us to be sincere and genuine. These are impressive qualities and examples to others. Jesus wants people to look at us and see our humility and our good traits and wants them to imitate and admire us. These are attractive qualities, and people will gravitate towards us when they identify our humility and sincerity.
Who does God want you to be? Have a conversation with God about this.
