Yesterday, we celebrated the Fourth Sunday of Lent, also called Laetare Sunday, reminding us that Easter is close. We are reminded that our salvation is given to us freely by God through Jesus. We can do nothing to merit our salvation; it is a gift only God can give, and God gives this gift because of his unconditional love for us.
With Easter drawing close, we are invited to examine our Lenten journey thus far. We should examine our lives to see God's presence and action throughout this time of Lent. We should notice the graces we have received and give thanks to God for them, notice times we have ignored or neglected God's presence and our Lenten sacrifices, and ask God for pardon and the grace to start over.
Just as we look back, we are also invited
to look forward. As we continue the journey of Lent, what grace do we seek from God?
What are you most thankful for? What would you like to work more on?
