Molesey Ave, Auckland Park, as we welcome a Jewish friend to join the dialogue on how Catholics and Jews are called to engage with one another in South Africa today. We will focus on paragraph 4 of Nostra Aetate, which deals at length with the Church’s attitude to the Jewish people.
In 2025, the Catholic Church will mark sixty years since the publication of Nostra Aetate (In our times). This Vatican II document reformulated the Church’s attitude toward the faithful of non-Christian religions. An attitude of respect replaced the attitude of contempt of previous years.
