The gardener’s tasks included tending the garden and ensuring that all the fruit trees, including the fig tree, bore fruit. Year after year, the owner came seeking fruit, but for three years, he found no figs on the tree.
God has given us unique gifts and talents, which we need to cultivate. Our gifts and talents glorify God and
contribute to the building of God’s Kingdom.
If Jesus came to us right now, would he find the fruit of our gifts and talents? Or would he discover that we have used them for worldly self-gain rather than building the people and kingdom of God?
How can you use your gifts and talents in your communities? If you are still discerning what these are,
prayerfully ask God to reveal your unique gifts and how best to use them to build the Kingdom.
