If somebody asked us to make a list of all the things the Lord has done for us or the promises that he has fulfilled in our lives, it would be endless because the “Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy” (Psalm 126: 3). The Lord is faithful and he is always there for us when we need him.
It is easier for us
to reflect on our lives and see how God has come to our aid than to be sure that our Lord will show up for us as he has promised. Doubt is not the absence of our faith, yet we doubt God sometimes. Why is it that we don’t believe that he will fulfil his promises?
We doubt even when we have experienced his faithful nature in the past. Because we often doubt everything, we start to doubt God as well. The challenge with this is that
we end up questioning our entire relationship with God: that God is God, that we can rely on him, his love for us and his presence in our lives.
“Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled”. What has the Lord spoken to you? Do you believe that what the Lord has spoken to you will be fulfilled? Spend some time in conversation with the Lord about this today.
