Today’s resurrection encounter is one of my favourites, when Jesus has a breakfast braai on the beach with his disciples.
The disciples have returned to their old and familiar ways of life. The experience of the cross and the empty tomb has shaken them and their expectations, and they are seeking a new foundation.
Jesus steps into this shaken moment. He reveals his presence in the most fascinating way: by reminding the disciples of the time he called them and produced a miraculous catch of fish after a night of unsuccessful work.
This week, we have seen how Jesus uses personalised ways to help us recognise him. His resurrection is impossible to comprehend, and he is aware of this. So he meets us, calls us
by our names, breaks bread, and reminds us of our encounters with him.
What have the moments of confusion in your life been? How did Jesus step into them? How did the resurrected Lord reveal his presence in your life?
