Staying a little longer with the reading from Revelation, we move to the Song of Creation.
Over the last two days, we have considered how we tell our story of Jesus. In many ways, this involves the use of words. Sometimes, though, words are not enough. The last part of the Revelation reading shows that all creation
expresses praise and honour to Jesus the Creator. Creation does not use words; sometimes we even express our Jesus story beyond words.
If it is possible today, take a little time to allow your senses to receive creation’s expression of her love for the Creator. Perhaps you could consider:
What might the Autumn season be communicating?
Is it day or night? Are you comfortable with this time of day? Why or why not?
Is it the warmth of the sun or a particular phase of the moon and stars? How does this invite you to consider the heavens?
There may be clouds, rain, or storms. What is this saying of God’s promise, provision or power?
What of majestic mountains, valleys, or even the lines of city roads?
Where might you travel with Jesus in your thoughts?
Think of what Jesus laid down for you as the trees lay down their leaves.
Are there birds or creatures of the day or night creating sound and
movement? Jesus created each and they know his touch.
What else is touching your senses right now?
How might you express something of your story about Jesus without words?
