Today, I would like to offer for reflection a poem that I recently wrote while on retreat.
EVERTHINE
Time past, clock’s ticking still
It’s now,
forever
Yesterday’s memory healed
Tomorrow of no consequence
Perhaps, sometime, maybe, watch, wait –
redundant!
Faith’s Focus present
Hope
fulfilled
Only Love remains
Pure blissful rapture
Wrapped in the soft, warm heart
of the Lover
Quiet, peaceful, weaned completion
Sigh of deeply grateful
gratitude
Longing answered
Striving stopped
What was, was
What was to come, has happened
All work at rest
Yes, now the rest
The unhurried unending being
Expressions of love and adoration
in care-touch, joy-dance and praise song
Today’s Son-rise more brilliant
than all those before
never to be swallowed up by a next sunset
All storms stilled – only fair weather
Plenty for all
No more tears, pain, fear or night
Darkness displaced by eternal Light
Joyous Love fills all
is all!
Set, loving wills replace command
to make everything true, safe
Yes, now the rest
being Everthine
All acclaim and tribute
to the King of Love
Eternity for which I was
created
From where Love
sought
bought
taught
then brought me home
to stay.

Spend some time today thinking and praying about how you see Jesus fulfilling
his promise of ‘forever’ for you.
