We pray today that the Holy Spirit may renew the face of the world and transform us into better believers and followers of Christ Jesus. As Christians, we continually strive to become more like Christ in our daily lives, especially when we face challenges. Crisis and challenges have a way of distorting our reality.
Our reality is that
we are loved by God. God invites us to respond generously to his unconditional love for us. Sometimes our selfishness gets in the way of responding to this love. When this happens, the Holy Spirit can transform us, helping us to reflect the spirit and character of Christ, changing our perspective from “having to” to “wanting to” respond to God’s unconditional love.
There are many ways that the Holy Spirit works in our lives, but they
all share one common goal: to make us more like Jesus Christ. The more Christ-like we become, the more we will begin to see the renewal of the face of the earth. We have to play our part. We must remain open to the Holy Spirit working in us.
Spend a few moments in your day in reflection. I invite you to imagine a world renewed and charged by the Holy Spirit. Imagine yourself in such a world. What does it look like? Have a
conversation with the Lord about this world you have imagined.
