It is often said that you cannot give what you do not have. Earthly things come and earthly things go—even huge temples and churches are destroyed or change hands. But nothing can take away the salvation that Jesus Christ has given us. This salvation will be with us all the way into eternity, when we will be able to worship God in God’s mighty presence. In the meantime, Jesus has enabled us to
be God’s workers, God’s field, God’s building. (1 Corinthians 3:9)
No matter how much the powers of this world try to corrupt and destroy our hope and our spirit, Jesus has already overcome that power. It cannot be undone.
Perhaps we can end the week by remembering three God-filled moments:
When we have felt forgiven.
When we feel a comforting sense that we are not alone.
When we somehow just know it is all going to be okay.
