From one point of view, these questions are understandable. When danger is coming, we want to know when it will happen so we can prepare. We may even want to avoid it altogether.
But where does God fit into this? We are invited to trust—to place our lives in God’s hands, knowing he will guide us.
Jesus’ main message here is simple: “Do not be afraid; I am with you”. Like Peter on the stormy sea, we can become overwhelmed by what swirls around us. But Jesus calls out to us, reminding us to keep our eyes fixed on him.
Today, we could ask: What is stirring my anxiety, and am I inviting Jesus into that place?
