Isaiah foresees a future world of peace and understanding where God's ways will be widely known. The vision includes a peaceful sanctuary in God's Kingdom and a widespread knowledge of the Lord throughout the earth.
God's holy mountain is seen as a place of divine presence and revelation, symbolising a sacred space where peace
and harmony prevail, representing hope and promise for a future world of understanding and peace through divine rule.
As believers we have the privilege of being able to look back on the event that Isaiah foresaw: the birth of Jesus, the Messiah. We are privileged to know that Jesus is the prince of peace, righteousness, and justice. We have the privilege to know that Jesus has compassion for the downtrodden, the poor and the
suffering. We have the privilege to know that Jesus offers us peace and harmony, forgiveness, healing, and above all, eternal life.
On our journey towards celebrating the birth of our King, the Prince of Peace, let us reflect on how we treat those on the fringes of society? How can we bring compassion, peace and understanding to the marginalised? How can we bring peace in our world, our community, and our
families?
