Jesus gives us the promise that when we believe, when we partake in his body and blood, he will raise us up on the last day. What does the last day mean? It means that at the end of time here on earth, those who believe will be physically raised to eternal life, free from sickness and decay. It is a promise that death is not the final end.
In eternal life, believers will live in a permanent, restored relationship with God. This eternal relationship begins the moment a person believes in and trusts Jesus. The believer's eternal future is firmly in the hands of Jesus.
At the heart of Jesus’ message, we have the unquestionable promise: that those who place their faith in Jesus are assured of a future beyond death in this
life.
