There are several links in the chain of salvation:
There is God, from whom our salvation comes in great love.
There is Jesus, who brought to fruition God’s loving salvation.
There are God’s messengers: prophets who speak, those who lead by example, disciples who learn, all of whom pass on God’s message of love.
Some believers welcome these messengers and the message they bring. In
so doing, they find new life.
We cannot be all these things, but we each form part of the link in our own particular way. Identifying which link we may be begins on the day of our baptism. With Spirit-filled discernment, we recognise who and what we are called to be. If we choose not to play our part as the link, the whole chain suffers. Yes, God will still make a way if we refuse the invitation, but it would be a sad thing to leave
anyone out of this beautiful love story. If we choose to be the best link we can be, the whole chain is blessed.
Will you shine as a link in God’s love chain to salvation?
Will you surrender in a wholehearted yes to being part of God’s love story?
Will you agree to be an extension of what Jesus continues to do in this world?
